Australia's critical minerals sector is a global network — not a local story.

Four associations.

One aligned purpose.

International

CMAA connects Australian industry, government, and international markets through a framework built on independence, evidence, and trusted relationships — spanning four continents and growing. As part of the Critical Minerals International Alliance, CMAA has a genuine seat at the international table, not just an observer role.

Each domestic association is independently governed, promoting its members' national interests while sharing intelligence and relationships across the network. That structure is what gives CMAA's international connections real weight — not affiliation, but active collaboration.

Critical Minerals International Alliance

The overarching body that brings together CMA UK, CMA Australia, CMA USA, and CMA Africa. The CMIA fosters supply chain integration across industry, government, and academia — giving member associations access to intelligence, relationships, and market context that no single national body could build alone. CMAA is partnered with the Canadian Minerals & Materials Alliance (C2M2A), extending this reach further.

Critical Minerals Association UK

Est. 2019 The founding association. CMA UK established the model that the broader alliance is built on, and gives CMAA direct access to European supply chain relationships, policy intelligence, and a network that predates and informs the Australian conversation.

Critical Minerals Association AU

Est. 2022 Australia's peak body for the critical minerals sector. Independent, evidence-based, and connected across government, industry, and global markets — collaborating closely with partner associations to drive supply chain integration and open new opportunities for members.

Critical Minerals Association US

Est. 2023 Positioned at the intersection of US industrial policy and critical minerals supply chain diversification. CMA USA connects CMAA directly into US investor networks and the strategic demand signals shaping global offtake decisions.

Critical Minerals Association Africa

Est. 2024 Expanding the alliance's reach into one of the world's most significant critical minerals endowments — broadening the network's ability to map and connect supply chain opportunities across the full allied supply chain architecture.

Responsible supply chains begin with the right relationships.

Critical minerals projects are, by their nature, located in regions with deep Indigenous connection. CMAA recognises that supply chain integrity, the kind that satisfies international ESG requirements and stands up to investor scrutiny — depends on how those relationships are structured from the outset.

Our partnership with I2I Global is not a signatory. It is an operating principle: Indigenous expertise and enterprise are integrated into how CMAA engages with projects, not added after the fact.

This matters not just ethically, but commercially. International investors - particularly in the US and European markets — are increasingly required to demonstrate supply chain ESG integrity at every stage. CMAA's approach positions Australian projects ahead of that curve.

"Creating responsible critical minerals supply chains means building them from the ground up — with communities, not around them."
